Never Use Sunscreen Again?! (Here’s Why)
If you only read one sentence from this article, read this:
STOP USING SUNSCREEN RIGHT NOW.
I’ve been telling people for years that sunlight is essential for your health and that you should be getting plenty of direct sunlight every day.
But that’s not what I’m warning you about this time around…
This time I’m talking about the extreme dangers of the sunscreens you’re using to keep out all of those healthful rays.
The FDA has released a shocking new report that will make you toss that garbage where it belongs… in the trash.
If you think sunscreen is something you just put ON your skin, think again.
This chemical-filled lotion penetrates deep in your skin and enters your bloodstream after just one day of use.
And the longer you use it, the higher the amount found in your blood.
This study was conducted by a branch of the FDA and published in the medical journal JAMA… so you know it’s something worth paying attention to.
When you use any kind of product – especially on your body – you probably believe that safety tests have been done on the product or its ingredients and that the governing bodies (like the FDA) have given it the green light.
Prepare to be disappointed.
A product doesn’t have to go through safety testing if less than .5 ng/mL of its active ingredients can be absorbed into the body.
Sunscreen manufacturers have claimed that their lotions fall into this category, and have gotten away with ZERO SAFETY TESTING.
But here’s the catch… no one had actually tested just how much of the stuff gets absorbed.
Until now.
The FDA decided to test just how much of those ingredients get absorbed into the skin. And what they found will shock you.
Because in some cases the amount of ingredients found in the bloodstream was 40 times higher than the amount considered “safe” or benign.
We’re talking about ingredients like avobenzone, oxybenzone, octocrylene, and ecamsule.
Here’s why having 40 times more than what’s considered safe is such a big deal…
- Avobenzone breaks down in the sun, become toxic when exposed to chlorine, and is known to cause hormone disruption.
- Octocrylene penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin, where it can damage cells and cause mutations (yes, the same ones that can CAUSE cancer).
- Oxybenzone is another hormone–disrupting chemical that has been linked to an increase in hormone-related cancers, early puberty in girls, and low sperm count in men.
You get the picture.
So are these products getting recalled?
Of course not. Instead, the FDA is calling for safety testing… while the products stay on the shelves.
Unbelievable.
This is just ONE MORE REASON to skip the sunscreen and soak up plenty of health-giving sunlight.
