Postmenopausal? You NEED This Nutrient
If you’ve gone through menopause, chances are your doctor has told you that you’re at a higher risk of coronary heart disease and sudden cardiac death.
And he’s probably even used these facts to scare you into taking statins or a daily dose of aspirin.
But you don’t need to take Big Pharma’s overpriced, side-effect-laden, so-called solutions to keep your heart healthy.
Because once again, Mother Nature provides where the mainstream can’t.
And all you have to do is make sure you’re getting plenty of this one key nutrient.
If you’re on the other side of menopause, I have one simple recommendation for you:
Load up on magnesium!
Research shows that this mineral can fight depression, prevent migraines, reduce insulin resistance, and lower your risk of osteoporosis.
And now, according to a study published in the Journal of Women’s Health, it can also be a boon for your heart health as well.
The study looked at over 150,000 postmenopausal women between 50-79, asked about magnesium intake using a food frequency questionnaire, and then tracked the women for an average of 10 years.
It showed that women who consumed more magnesium had a statistically significant reduced risk of having fatal coronary heart disease or sudden cardiac death.
On the other hand, those with the lowest magnesium intake had the highest risk of suffering from these cardiovascular events.
Getting more magnesium in your diet should be pretty easy to do. It’s found in tasty foods like walnuts, bananas, dark chocolate, leafy greens, and whole grain cereals.
Or you can pick up a magnesium supplement from your local pharmacy.
