In a recent triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial, researchers investigated how a surprising natural duo affects migraines.

Study volunteers were between 18 and 55 and had experienced two or more migraines per month in the three months before the study.

Participants received either vitamin D plus a probiotic OR a placebo for 12 weeks.

And the results are in.

Both groups had improvements in the frequency, duration, and severity of their migraines after 12 weeks.

However, the D plus probiotic group experienced…

  • almost twice the reduction in frequency, and
  • nearly double the reduction in severity as the placebo group.

They also (not surprisingly) had much higher vitamin D levels.

But the benefits didn’t end there. The D plus probiotic group also experienced significantly lower systolic, diastolic, and average arterial blood pressure.

Whether you suffer from migraines or not, boosting your vitamin D levels and supporting your gut health is vital for overall health and wellbeing.

The fact that this tag team can also ease these difficult-to-treat headaches just further proves that point.
