It seems like pink ribbons are plastered everywhere to remind us that women are still getting—and dying from—breast cancer.

But I don’t need a pink ribbon to remind me… and you probably don’t either.

I’ve personally known too many women—both family members and patients—who have been part of the 41,000 women who die of breast cancer every year.

That’s why I always tell my patients about a powerful nutrient that SHUTS DOWN breast cancer before it starts.

In fact, studies show it can reduce your risk by 87%.

What’s not to love about vitamin D?

It can have a beneficial impact on your heart, your blood sugar, your immune system, your bones, and the list goes on.

Studies show that it can help prevent numerous types of cancer, too—including breast cancer.

Studies consistently show two facts about the connection between vitamin D and breast cancer:

  1. Having lower levels INCREASES your risk of breast cancer.
  2. Having higher levels LOWERS your risk of breast cancer.

Human studies show that having a blood level of at least 40 ng/mL lowers your risk of developing breast cancer by 67% (compared to those whose levels were 20 ng/mL or less).

But higher levels provide even GREATER protection… with one study showing a whopping 87% reduction in breast cancer in people who had levels of at least 60 ng/mL.

Other types of studies indicate that higher vitamin D levels can also reduce your risk of DYING from cancer… even if you already have it.

It’s studies like these that have me singing the praises of vitamin D—and why I’ll never get tired of telling my patients (and readers like you) to spend more time in the sun!

The sun is the very best way to get your D, although you can also get it from foods like salmon, mackerel, and milk.
