The REAL #1 Cause of Death (NOT Heart Disease)
A new study has unveiled the leading cause of death in America.
And it isn’t heart disease.
It isn’t cancer.
It’s not diabetes.
In fact, it’s not a disease at all.
But it’s a risk you need to know about—because there’s a good chance it’s ALREADY wrecking your health.
To determine the leading cause of death, researchers combed through previous studies from 1990-2016.
They found that the one thing that can land you in an early grave faster than anything else is simply this: poor diet.
And it’s no wonder!
Poor diet contributes to just about every major condition you can think of, from cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, to cancer, blood diseases, and Alzheimer’s.
The conditions might vary, but they all have one common denominator – your diet.
This wasn’t the first time poor diet was at the top of this notorious list.
Even back in 2010, in the Global Burden of Disease Study, poor diet was found to be the leading cause of death—even beyond smoking. Specifically, poor diet contributed to 14% of deaths, while smoking was responsible for 11%.
And in 2016, a study showed that the three leading causes of death included diet, tobacco, and high blood pressure.
People are finally starting to catch on to the dangers of smoking. But the fact that obesity is only increasing makes it clear that most people still haven’t put two and two together when it comes to diet and disease.
But none of this surprises me.
What most people eat these days hardly passes as food.
Gone are the days of farm-too-table diets.
Instead, fresh, nutrient-rich foods from the earth have been replaced by chemicals posing as food.
And even when you try to eat the “right” foods, all too often they’re laced with pesticides, pumped full of growth hormones, or doused with antibiotics.
Our society is obese, yet malnourished. As miraculous as the human body is, it can only take so much before it starts to break down.
As discouraging as these facts are, there’s a big bright light at the end of the tunnel.
You have complete, 100% control over your diet, which means you can have an active role in preventing this leading cause of death.
Eat fresh, organic, chemical-free foods. And cut the processed junk out of your diet.
You’ll feel better… and you’ll probably add years to your life in the process.
To a brighter day,
