“Safe” Drugs DOUBLE Your Heart Risk
It’s no secret that we already have enough factors stacked against our heart health.
Obesity, blood pressure, cholesterol, stress, lack of sleep, lack of sunlight… it’s just too much for our hearts to handle.
Mainstream medicine is SUPPOSED to be helping.
But we all know that they just push Big Pharma’s drugs… and don’t care what actually happens to your heart.
And this latest study proves it.
Because a class of popular and “safe” drugs can DOUBLE your risk of DEADLY heart issues.
Another week, another ding in the reputation of antibiotics.
This time, the spotlight is on broad-spectrum antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. These drugs are used to combat bacterial infections like bronchitis, pneumonia, and sinusitis.
If you’re prescribed these antibiotics, you’ll be instructed to take them until they’re gone. You’ll feel better, and you probably won’t think about them again.
Then, if you develop a life-threatening heart condition in the next 30-60 days, you probably wouldn’t dream that the antibiotics could be the cause.
But this is no dream… it’s a nightmare.
In a recent study, researchers looked at data on over 9 million patients from the FDA’s adverse events reporting system and from a large US private health insurance database.
People were 2.5 TIMES more likely to develop a potentially deadly heart valve problem if they had taken so-called “Floxins” within the past 30 days.
And those who had taken the drugs within the past 60 days were 1.5 times more likely to develop the problem.
Aortic and mitral regurgitation occur when one of the valves starts to leak. In severe cases, it can lead to heart failure…it could require your heart valve to be replaced… or it could ultimately kill you.
But this isn’t the first time Floxins have caused serious risks.
Back in 2008, they received the FDA’s notorious “black box warning” because of their link to tendon ruptures.
More recently, the FDA found that they could potentially tear your largest artery – the aorta.
And in 2013, the FDA warned that they could cause sudden and permanent peripheral neuropathy.
I can’t understand why these antibiotics are still being prescribed when there are so many safer options available.
If you end up needing an antibiotic (and most of us do from time to time), talk to your doctor about getting something—anything—other than a fluoroquinolone.

“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” “All washed up.” “Over the hill.” I’m tired of society programming you to think that you should start expecting less out of life once you reach a certain age. Last I checked, chronological age is NOT a marker of vitality—physically OR mentally. Truth is, it’s never too...

Spring is here. Finally! We’ve already seen some 80-degree days here in Arizona, and I’m loving it. I also love to breathe in the smell of fresh-cut grass and see the vibrant colors in trees like the crepe myrtle and magnolia. But if you have seasonal allergies, all you see is pollen. And instead of...

I took an oath when I became a physician to do no harm. And I take that oath seriously. I wish I could say the same for all my colleagues. A recent study discovered that doctors are drugging their Alzheimer’s patients—and as you can imagine, it’s having some disastrous health consequences. Doctors these days hand...
If you have type 2 diabetes, you also have a smorgasbord of complications that come with it.
