SLASH Prostate Cancer Death Risk 71%!
Earlier this week, I revealed an exercise that can reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
In case you missed that issue, it was resistance training.
New research revealed it produces major improvements in brain health markers in just four weeks flat!
Today, I want to share another BIG benefit of a specific type of exercise.
This one is for the guys … and it concerns SLASHING your cancer risk. This one is for the guys… and it has to do with SLASHING your risk of cancer.
When we talk about cardiovascular fitness, we typically focus on heart health.
But cardio fitness (achieved with exercise that raises your heart rate) is JUST as vital for reducing your risk of certain cancers. Plus, it improves your odds of surviving if you do get diagnosed.
For a new study, researchers focused on 178,000 men who had completed health assessments between 1982 and 2019.
After a bunch of careful data collection and number crunching, one thing stood out clearly.
The BETTER a man’s overall cardio fitness, the LOWER his risk of developing—or dying from—certain cancers.
For example, moderate cardio fitness was associated with a 28 percent lower risk of developing colon cancer, and a high fitness level was associated with a 37 percent lower risk.
Results were even MORE impressive for prostate and lung cancer.
Moderate cardio fitness levels reduced the risk of dying from prostate cancer by 43 percent, and high cardio levels SLASHED the risk by 71 percent!
For lung cancer, men with high cardio fitness had a 59 percent reduced risk of dying after adjusting for smoking.
This study stands out from others for several reasons.
- First, it wasn’t simply based on a questionnaire. Cardio health was measured by having the men use an exercise bike and then recording their blood oxygen levels.
- Plus, it was a large study that spanned a long period.
In other words, these are results we can trust.
And they all point to one crucial conclusion: Get your heart rate UP to send your cancer risk back DOWN.
P.S. Scientists have finally identified four early warning signs of colon cancer that we should ALL be looking for. Knowing them could literally SAVE your life. CLICK FOR the list.
