THIS Strange Therapy is the Future of Alzheimer’s Medicine
On the outside, Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by symptoms like forgetfulness, confusion, trouble speaking, and agitation.
But the real damage is on done on the inside.
You see, the key underlying cause of these symptoms is beta-amyloid plaque and tau protein buildup.
Scientists have been working hard on a way to reduce, remove, or eliminate these harmful plaques for decades.
Now, researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology believe they have uncovered a rather unique solution.
This innovative approach doesn’t use the mainstream’s typical medical solutions of drugs or surgery.
Instead, it uses something that’s safer and simpler.
It’s the healing power of light.
A few years ago, researchers found that simply shining a flickering light into the eyes of Alzheimer’s mice eliminated the buildup of amyloid beta and tau proteins in the brain.
Since then, this light therapy has been shown to help treat dementia, jet lag, sleep disorders, and more.
Light therapy works by boosting gamma oscillation, a type of brain wave that is impaired in Alzheimer’s patients. This is critical because these brain waves play a part in important brain functions like memory and attention.
But now these same researchers have found a way to supercharge the light therapy’s brain-wave-boosting abilities – and it’s just as unique.
This time, they added in sound.
The combination of light plus sound boost the gamma oscillations even further, producing even more impressive results.
Overall, the light therapy was able to reduce inflammation, improve the connection between nerve cells, and prevent cell death.
This study was done in mice, but I’m always encouraged by scientists that think outside of the box. Researching solutions for Alzheimer’s that DON’T involve drugs isn’t just thinking outside the box… it’s destroying it.
I believe that’s when the real breakthroughs are made.
