Thyroid Trouble? Scientists Discover Drug-Free Fix
For such a small gland, our thyroids can sure cause big problems…
And if you’re dealing with hypothyroidism – basically an underactive thyroid – you learn that the hard way.
It seems to affect every part of your body…
I’m talking about the dry skin, thinning hair, fatigue, cold sensitivity, and the weight that just won’t seem to come off.
And if you’re like most patients, you’ll be given a drug like levothyroxine – which comes with a laundry list of side effects like heart palpitations, tremors, and even trouble sleeping.
If you’re ready to try something different, European scientists may have just discovered it.
It doesn’t require any drugs… and is already delivering remarkable results.
In fact, I believe in this treatment so much, I use it myself.
You’ve heard me talk about the health benefits of photobiomodulation (PBM) before.
Basically, that’s red light and near-infrared light therapy, which travels deep into your body and can even reach your mitochondria – the energy centers of your cells.
It improves blood flow and lowers inflammation, which makes it great for treating pain. In fact, I’ve used PBM for years on myself and with patients as a go-to pain therapy.
But now it looks like PBM may be a powerful tool for treating hypothyroidism, too.
You see, one of the main causes of hypothyroidism is that your immune system is attacking your thyroid.
So European researchers looked at several studies on using PBM to get this over-aggressive immune reaction under control, and the results were impressive.
Researchers found that patients receiving PBM tended to have lower levels of thyroid autoantibodies (the immune attack markers) and better thyroid hormone levels, meaning the gland was functioning more normally.
People who received PBM therapy also tended to need lower doses of thyroid medication, because their thyroids were working better on their own.
PBM works for treating thyroid problems the same way it works for treating pain. It calms inflammation, improves blood flow, and stimulates mitochondria inside thyroid cells, which helps repair tissue and regulate the immune response.
Now, you can ask your doctor about getting PBM for your hypothyroidism, but there’s a chance he’ll look at you like you have two heads. Most doctors have heard about it, but don’t offer it.
But believe it or not, you can get the benefits of PBM on your own… for free.
The best and safest way to do PBM is to get safe sun exposure, which has all the light frequencies we need. And you don’t have to deal with any of the electromagnetic frequences (EMF) that come from electronic devices.
So focus on getting enough sun exposure every day, just making sure you don’t burn. It just might be good medicine for your thyroid.
