Dr. G’s Top 6 Supplements to FIGHT Aging
Let’s face it, we all know people who “look great for their age.”
Well, here’s a crazy idea:
What if we took our biological age and threw it out the window.
Because frankly, instead of accepting aging as a part of life, I’d rather focus on vitality at any age (NOT vitality despite my age!).
There are plenty of lifestyle change you can make to help keep you younger — like moving more, getting up with the sun, and maintaining a healthy weight.
In addition, here are six key nutrients that can help you look AND feel younger… at any age.
It should go without saying that vitality on the inside will mean vitality on the outside.
That’s why expensive anti-aging creams and serums can only work for so long.
And that’s also why I’d rather focus what I’m putting INSIDE of my body.
I’ve talked a lot about curcumin for its pain-relieving properties (click here to read about it). But those same anti-inflammatory effects are also great at keeping your cells young and healthy, too.
You see, curcumin activates key proteins like AMPK that help fight cellular aging and promote longevity.
And by fighting inflammation, they help prevent the shortening of telomeres, which helps prevent aging.
EGCG is the compound in green tea that’s responsible for many of its renowned health benefits.
EGCG promotes a process in your body called autophagy, which helps clean out damaged cellular material.
As an added benefit, it also increases levels of leptin — the “satiety hormone” — which can help you lose weight.
When it comes to energizing your body’s cells — and especially your heart’s cells — it doesn’t get much better than CoQ10.
Your body’s natural CoQ10 levels decline with age, but by supplementing with CoQ10, you’ll help reduce the buildup of the free radicals that accelerate aging.
Resveratrol is another popular anti-aging compound found in red wine, other red fruit, and peanuts. It activates genes called sirtuins that have been shown to increase lifespan in certain animals.
Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids that protect your heart and your brain.
And vitamin D fuels bone health, immune function, regulates insulin levels, supports nervous system and brain health, and so much more.
There’s more I could add to this list, but if you’re looking for a good place to start your anti-aging routine, skip the expensive lotions and load up on these instead.
