Get SUPER MUSCLES with THIS Wonder Vitamin!
If it seems like the older you get, the more your muscles waste away… it’s not your imagination.
After you reach 30 years old, you lose 3-5 percent of your muscle mass per decade—with men estimated to lose 30 percent throughout our lifetime.
But lack of muscle affects more than your looks, or even your ability to carry those heavy bags of groceries.
It dramatically impacts your independence.
You see, muscle loss (also called sarcopenia) is a stepping stone on the way to frailty, an “old age” condition that increases your risk of falls, broken bones, and death.
But there’s a wonder vitamin that can help you get SUPER MUSCLES regardless of your age —and you don’t have to set foot in a gym.
Don’t get me wrong… exercise is a great way to help build or maintain strong, healthy, functional muscle strength.
It has a lot of other benefits for your body and mind as well.
Personally, I try to be active every day.
But you don’t have to be a gym rat or pump iron to put a stop to the gradual muscle loss that goes along with age.
You just have to make sure you’re getting plenty of vitamin C.
In a study published in The Journal of Nutrition, researchers followed 13,000 people between 42 and 82 years old.
The people recorded their vitamin C intake over seven days, and the researchers also took blood samples to determine blood levels of vitamin C.
They found that the people with the highest amounts of C in their diets or in their blood had the greatest estimated skeletal muscle mass compared to those with the lowest amounts.
This study was different that a lot of other studies because the researchers gathered actual blood samples—as opposed to only having the participants answer food frequency questionnaires.
That makes the connection even stronger.
Eating just one citrus fruit, like an orange, and a vitamin-C rich veggie like spinach was enough to help prevent muscle loss.
That should be easy for most people to do… but the results also showed that more than 50 percent of the study participants weren’t getting the daily recommended amounts of vitamin C.
The more we learn about vitamin C, the more it makes sense to make sure you’re getting plenty of it.
And as this study showed, you don’t have to take megadoses to make a difference.
