[Warning] These Drugs Can POP Your Tendons?!
Imagine you’re just climbing a flight of stairs… or bringing in a bag of groceries from the car.
Suddenly, you feel a sharp SNAP in your ankle or knee.
The pain is immediate. It feels like someone hit you with a tire iron.
You rush to the hospital or urgent care – and a doctor confirms you suffered a tendon rupture.
Well, it wasn’t old age that did this to you…
And it wasn’t bad luck, either.
It may have been a common class of medications that have now been linked to painful injuries and worse.
And I’ve been warning about these drugs for years…
When you think of drugs that can harm you, antibiotics aren’t usually high up on the list.
But they should be, when it comes to one class of antibiotics in particular.
Fluoroquinolones.
These are drugs like ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and moxifloxacin. They all have “flox” in the name.
And they have harmed so many people, that doctors and patients even have a term for it – “getting floxed.”
My own wife was injured by these drugs before we all fully understood their risks.
You see, fluoroquinolones damage collagen and weaken connective tissue. And while mainstream medicine has tried to explain these problems away, new research again proves they’re wrong.
A recent study from Open Forum Infectious Diseases looked at 13 years of data on fluoroquinolone use. They found that these drugs can increase your risk of tendon rupture by more than FIVE-FOLD.
And seniors are the ones experiencing most of the injuries.
But, believe it or not, an excruciating tendon rupture may not even be your worst fear with fluoroquinolones.
Because your heart and arteries have collagen and connective tissue, too.
And previous research showed that fluoroquinolones can significantly increase your odds of an aortic dissection, a life-threatening tear in the inner layer of your aorta.
Remember, these drugs are very easy to spot – they all contain “flox.”
And if you’re prescribed a fluoroquinolone, ask your doctor the one question that could save your joints – and maybe even your life.
“What can I take instead?”
