If there’s one disease you want to avoid as you age, it’s osteoarthritis.

This debilitating disease will ruin your joints… leave you in endless pain… and even strip you of your independence.

And you’ve probably been told your osteoarthritis is due to the wear and tear on your joints. That’s true, but what’s causing the cartilage to wear down in the first place?

Believe it or not, it could be due to a simple vitamin deficiency – and correcting that deficiency can stop any further joint destruction in its tracks.

Researchers took a closer look at data collected as part of the Osteoarthritis Initiative. It involved 1785 people with moderate-severe osteoarthritis in the right knee.

They compared the intake of vitamin D with something called the WORMS score (whole organ MRI scoring method), a score that assesses cartilage loss.

Ultimately, supplementation with vitamin D every day was significantly associated with a lower (improved) cartilage WORMS score.

In addition, a four-year follow-up showed that people who consistently took vitamin D had slower degeneration of their joints.

The higher the dose of vitamin D someone took, the slower the breakdown of their joints.

Ultimately, this study shows that vitamin D helps slow the breakdown of the joints in people with osteoarthritis.

Whether you have osteoarthritis or not, vitamin D is essential for optimal health. I always recommend getting your blood levels checked. If your D is below 50 ng/mL, take active steps to improve your levels.

Spend more time in the sun, eat more liver and eggs, and if necessary, take a supplement.

This is important health advice for everyone… but if you’re suffering from osteoarthritis, it could be one of easiest solutions to keeping your joints healthy and pain-free.
