“Body Clock” Trick Slows Aging to a Crawl
Listen, if I’m going to live a long time (and I plan to), then I don’t want to spend it too sick, tired, and immobile to enjoy it. I want an aging plan that BOOSTS my quality of life.
All sorts of lifestyle factors contribute to a longer, healthier life.
Most are likely common knowledge, like staying active, eating healthy, not smoking, and getting good sleep.
But there’s another BIG factor that you might not be aware of.
It turns out healthier aging isn’t just about WHAT you eat…
Calorie restriction is just what it sounds like… cutting the number of calories you consume.
To count as true calorie restriction, you must cut 20 to 40 percent of your daily calories. (Just make sure you’re still eating enough to get your essential nutrients.)
Many people aren’t willing to cut out this much food from their diet, but you might consider it after you hear what you can gain…
As you’d expect, calorie restriction contributes to weight loss. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Studies show reducing calorie intake can boost heart health and brain function.
It’s ALSO one of the best anti-aging strategies around.
In a recent study, researchers found that calorie restriction turned ON genes related to energy generation and metabolism while turning OFF genes involved in inflammation.
In other words, it helps your body run more efficiently while reducing harmful inflammation.
This strikes at the heart of aging, which occurs when cellular processes like regeneration and turnover slow down.
By supporting these processes, calorie restriction slows your body’s time clock to a crawl.
Interestingly, the folks in the study were only able to achieve about a 12 percent reduction in their caloric intake.
This tells me that every little bit helps. And that’s FANTASTIC news for those who want to fight aging but aren’t up for slashing calories by 20 to 40 percent.
Don’t discount calorie restriction because you think you’ll be miserable and hangry. Cut back a little at a time.
In a scenario like this, even a little bit can go a long way in boosting your overall health and longevity.
P.S. One of the BEST steps I’ve ever taken to live a longer and healthier life is a specific “timing trick.” And it could be just as life-changing for you. CLICK HERE for the details.
