The EASIEST Way to REVERSE Poor Health
Why on Earth should it be so HARD to stay healthy?
Everywhere you turn, somebody is trying to convince you to try some new fast… or cleanse… or insane workout routine.
There’s even a new exercise regimen where you hang upside down using hammocks!
Let me tell you something. A hammock is for two things – taking a nap or reading a book.
The truth is, there’s a dead-simple way to boost your health and prevent some of the worst diseases around.
It only costs pennies a day – and you NEVER have to break a sweat to do it.
I’m talking about loading up on vitamin C.
Vitamin C helps combat heart disease, reduces the risk of chronic disease, and even helps stop painful gout attacks.
And that’s just the beginning.
Here are 5 reasons why getting enough vitamin C should be at the top of your nutrient priority list.
- It’s a powerful antioxidant.
“Antioxidant” is a health buzzword these days—and for good reason. These molecules boost your immune system and protect your body against harmful substances (called free radicals) that contribute to chronic disease.
Studies show that vitamin C boosts your antioxidant levels by 30%.
- It reduces heart disease risk.
A major analysis looked at data from nine different studies including nearly 300,000 people, comparing the difference between those who supplemented with 700 mg of vitamin C daily and those who didn’t take any at all.
Turns out that the vitamin C group had a 25% lower risk of heart disease.
Interestingly, another major study found that getting your vitamin C from food sources—rather than supplements—was linked to an even lower risk of heart disease.
- It helps prevent gout attacks.
Gout is a painful form of arthritis that mainly involves inflammation of the big toe. A gout flareup typically occurs as a result of too much of a waste produce called uric acid in the blood.
A large study that tracked men for over 20 years found that people who supplemented with vitamin C had a 44% lower risk of developing gout.
Another study showed why: Supplementing for just 30 days dramatically reduced the amount of uric acid in the blood.
- It boosts immunity.
White blood cells in particular are important because they help protect your body against infections. Vitamin C has been shown to boost the production of white blood cells, and also to help them function more effectively.
- It protects against cognitive decline.
You need plenty of vitamin C for healthy brain function. Studies show that not getting enough of it impairs your ability to think and remember. People with dementia tend to have lower levels of vitamin C in their blood.
On the other hand, high intakes of vitamin C have been shown to help protect thinking and memory as you age.
The recommended daily allowance of vitamin C is 75 mg for women and 90 mg for men. I always advocate getting your nutrients through whole food sources when possible.
For your daily vitamin C boost, be sure to load up on oranges, strawberries, bell peppers, kale, and spinach.
To a brighter day,
