The Once-a-Week Secret to Weight Loss
If you’re like most people I know, you’ve tried just about everything to lose weight.
And nothing seems to work—not in the long-run anyway.
But I want to let you in on a little secret… you’re trying too hard.
One of the best strategies for weight loss doesn’t involve counting calories… or cutting out the foods you love… or running yourself ragged on the treadmill.
In fact, this PROVEN weight-loss strategy is something you only need to do once a week—and you can eat ALL your favorite foods.
This weight-loss secret is called intermittent fasting.
Don’t worry. The fasting is not forever.
It’s just for a period of 12-16 hours, and it’s only once a week.
According to a recent review of studies on intermittent fasting, this lifestyle habit was not only one of the BEST ways to lose weight… it was one of the BEST things you could do for your health in general.
In all 10 clinical trials examined, intermittent fasting was associated with significant weight loss.
And it’s no wonder. Intermittent fasting essentially turns your body into a fat-burning machine.
That’s because your body has a number of different types of fuel that it burns for energy. The first is glucose. It isn’t until AFTER you’ve used up all your glucose stores that your body starts to dip into its second fuel source: FAT.
The switch usually takes place at the 8-12-hour mark. So if you go 12-16 hours without eating, you get HOURS of direct fat-burning before “breaking your fast” and going about your normal way of eating.
If you only do intermittent fasting for its weight-loss benefits, that would be enough. But it’s not the reason I’ve added it into my weekly routine.
I love intermittent fasting because it has been shown to activate mechanisms in your body that that help prevent and reverse disease, boost energy levels, and even improve your skin.
Studies have connected intermittent fasting to longer lifespans, enhanced physical performance, and protection against cognitive decline and cardiovascular disease.
If you ask me, going 12-16 hours without eating just ONE day a week is a small price to pay for such major health benefits.
To a brighter day,
