Do THIS to Stop Cancer AND Arthritis
Some diseases go hand-in-hand, like high blood pressure and heart disease.
Or type 2 diabetes and vision loss.
When you get one, you know you’re at a higher risk for the other.
There are other diseases you wouldn’t expect to be connected – like cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
But scientists have just found that BOTH conditions are linked to the same cause.
That means a couple small changes could keep you PERMANENTLY safe from both of these life-wrecking diseases.
Obesity is well known for increasing the risk of diseases like heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
But it turns out that being overweight also increases your risk of two seemingly unrelated conditions: breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
The risk is especially great for women.
A study published in JCI Insightfound that overweight women were more likely to experience a recurrence of their breast cancer after their treatment was complete.
When fat cells are stored near breast tumors, it appears to cause the production of growth factors that can stimulate tumor growth.
Fat cells are also known to increase estrogen levels (something that can spur estrogen-dependent cancers). They also increase insulin levels, which have been linked to breast cancer.
A second recent study published in Arthritis Care & Researchrevealed that being overweight increases the risk of rheumatoid arthritis in women.
Specifically, this study found that for every 5% increase in body fat, risk of rheumatoid increased by 10%.
Ultimately, women who were obese had a 50% greater risk of rheumatoid arthritis than those with a normal body-mass index.
This may seem surprising, since rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease driven by inflammation (as opposed to osteoarthritis, which is caused by wear and tear on the joints).
But since fat cells are highly inflammatory, it makes sense that they could play a role in this disease.
The bottom line here is that obesity is one of the biggest risk factors for disease – and it is 100% in your control.
Every study that comes out makes it more and more clear that getting your weight under control really is one the best things you can do to feel better, look better, and live healthier.
Ditch the added sugar and carbs, and base your diet on healthy proteins and vegetables. You’ll see the weight fall off in no time.
