[Warning] Deadly Cancer Agent in Breakfast Foods
It’s getting more and more difficult to “eat healthy” – especially when it comes to breakfast foods.
Bagels, donuts, Danishes, crepes… breakfast has become a carb-lovers paradise.
But these days, even the “right” decisions can be the wrong ones.
Because it turns out that some of the most popular breakfast food options – including so-called “healthy” cereals – could be making you VERY sick.
They may even be giving you cancer.
The Environmental Working Group recently conducted an analysis of nearly four dozen common breakfast cereals and other foods – and what they found isn’t good.
In fact, it’s terrible.
All but TWO of the 45 samples tested contained levels of glyphosate, the notorious active ingredient found in the weed-killer Roundup.
Even worse, more than two-thirds of the samples tested had levels FAR ABOVE what’s considered “safe.”
Just a few of the popular foods that showed up on this list include Cheerios, Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats, Nature Valley Oats and Honey Bars, Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, and Quaker Steel Cut Oats.
In other words… likely some of the foods sitting in your pantry right now.
If you’re not familiar with glyphosate’s history, allow me to fill you in.
This is the same toxin that has officially been classified as a carcinogen in the state of California and by the World Health Organization.
This is the same toxin that – just last month – was found to be a significant cause of giving a groundskeeper terminal cancer. He was awarded $289 million in damages.
Glyphosate has been associated with practically every major disease you can think of… obesity, diabetes, heart disease, you name it.
In rat studies, it’s been linked to kidney failure, liver failure, infertility, and higher death rates.
Exposure increases the risk of lymphocytic lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, mammary tumors, and more.
I could go on, but you get the idea. This stuff can and does kill you, yet more than 300 million pounds are dumped on our food supply every single year.
One of the main problems with glyphosate is that it inhibits our bodies’ ability to detox the chemicals we’re exposed to.
In other words, the active ingredient sprayed on most of the foods we eat reduces your ability to get rid of all the other thousands of chemicals that build up in our bodies and make us sick.
So it’s no surprise that long-term exposure to it can make you sick (or dead).
It’s getting more and more difficult to avoid glyphosate, but there are ways you can limit your exposure.
- Buy organic products.
- Avoid genetically-modified foods (GMOs).
- Look for foods that have been certified to be glyphosate-free.
- Stop buying food products with conventionally grown wheat and other grains. (Easier said than done, I know.)
And when it comes to eating a healthy breakfast, stick with bacon and eggs.
