[Warning] This Boosts Your Cancer Risk 12X
Cancer and heart disease.
They’re the two biggest killers in the U.S., responsible for about HALF of all deaths.
Even if they don’t kill you, millions of Americans are living with the diseases.
But you don’t have to be one of them.
There’s a risk factor that can make you 12 TIMES more likely to get cancer – and 5 times more likely to develop heart disease.
Here’s EXACTLY how to avoid it.
Being overweight is FAR more than a cosmetic issue.
Fat cells (especially abdominal fat) churn out an enormous amount of inflammation that impacts literally every area of your body.
Perhaps the most devastating consequence of carrying extra weight is an increased risk for two of the most feared diseases: cancer and heart disease.
In a recent study published in Preventive Medicine, researchers studied over 50,000 adults over a 10-year period to examine the impact of body mass index (BMI) on health.
And what they found isn’t pretty — especially for women.
For men, obesity DOUBLED the risk of cancer, but was NOT found to be a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease (surprisingly).
But the picture was much more devastating for women.
Obese women (defined as a BMI of 25-29.9) were found to be FIVE times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease and 12 TIMES more likely to develop cancer.
12 TIMES!!!
But there’s good news, too.
This study showed that losing just 10 pounds can reduce your risk of both cardiovascular disease and cancer by 20%.
But why stop there? The more weight you lose, the more your disease risk will plummet.
I love seeing studies like this because it shows just how much control you have over your health.
And in addition to reducing your risk of heart disease and cancer, losing weight will help you reduce your risk of diabetes, osteoarthritis, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, fatty liver disease, and much more.
Avoid processed foods, load up on healthy proteins and vegetables, and try to limit your eating to 8 hours a day.
That’s called “intermittent fasting” – and it’s one of the quickest ways to shed pounds.
To a brighter day,
Dr. Richard Gerhauser, M.D.
P.S. The ideal body mass index (BMI) to shoot for is between 15 and 24.9.
