Yuletide Treat CRUSHES Cancer
Let’s face it – most “superfoods” don’t taste so super at all.
Sure, eating more foods like kale, broccoli and beets will make you healthier.
But no one wants to choke a pound of veggies down at every meal.
Now, you don’t have to.
Because scientists have just discovered a food that CRUSHES Cancer cells and stops them from spreading.
And you’re going to LOVE the taste.
Maple syrup can do a lot more than glaze your Christmas ham or add a shot of sweetness to your favorite holiday cookie.
This superfood has been found to have numerous anti-cancer effects—the darker the syrup, the better.
In a study published in the journal Oncology Reports, a specific compound in maple syrup called ginnalin-A was shown to STOP the growth of colon cancer cells.
In a follow-up study published in Biomedical Reports, dark maple syrup was shown to SHRINK gastrointestinal cancer cell by suppressing a signaling pathway (AKT) that helps cancer grow and spread.
The effect was so profound that the researchers suggested that maple syrup could be an alternative to toxic cancer treatments, calling it phytomedicine.
Imagine… food as medicine!
The news keeps getting better.
Because a third study showed that another compound found in maple syrup called quebecol has similar benefits to a popular chemo drug called tamoxifen…but with none of the nasty side effects.
If maple syrup’s healing properties stopped there, that would certainly be enough. But they don’t.
Studies show that this sweet syrup has three additional benefits:
- It helps combat Alzheimer’s. An extract from pure maple syrup has been found to prevent beta amyloid plaques from clumping together. These clumps are a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease. It’s also been shown to help protect microglial brain cells, which helps prevent neurodegeneration and memory loss.
- It has potent antimicrobial properties. When combined with two common antibiotics, a maple syrup extract boosted the effects of the antibiotics so profoundly that only 10% of the antibiotic was needed to get the same antimicrobial effect.
- It combats inflammation. Inflammation plays a role in most of today’s modern diseases. The quebecol compound in maple syrup helps to stop the body’s inflammatory response.
If you want to add this sweet cancer-fighter into your diet, just make sure it’s the natural, pure kind…not any of those sugary, heavily processed breakfast syrups.
And remember, based on these studies, the darker the better.
