Government Advice CAUSING Heart Attacks?!
Want to avoid having a heart attack?
Stop following medical advice from the government.
For all the misinformation and downright DEADLY advice they’ve handed out over the years, you’d think they were in bed with Big Pharma…
Here’s a perfect example.
A recent study has shown that the government is directly responsible for increasing your risk of a heart attack by 24%.
Find out how you can stay safe.
There’s a good portion of the population that doesn’t remember when daylights savings time didn’t exist.
But I’m happy that I live in one of only two states that have opted out of daylight savingstime… because it can be devastating for your health.
According to a recent study in the British Medical Journal, hospitals see a 24% increase in heart attack victims the Monday after the clocks change.
A study from a few years earlier found the exact same increase in heart attacks on “morbid Monday.”
BOTHof these studies also showed that there was a 21% DROP in heart attacks after returning to the standard time in the fall.
Coincidence?
Not a chance!
The main complaint about springing forward is losing one hour of sleep.
It’s true that lack of sleep increases the risk of heart disease, but there’s something else behind the uptick in heart attacks after arbitrarily changing your clocks.
Can you guess what it is?
It’s your circadian rhythm!
Your body’s internal clock – your circadian rhythm – dictates just about every function in your body.
Your body has a central clock in the brain, called the suprachiasmatic nucleus. It responds to light entering the eyesand then helps the body keep time with the earth. Your circadian rhythm regulates hormones, metabolism, and immune function. It even has a hand in inflammation.
Throwing off your master clock can throw off the tiny clocks in all of your organs and tissues. Studies have shown that a disrupted circadian rhythm impacts both your brain and your body, leading to weight gain, impulsivity, slower thinking, and other physiological and behavioral changes.
It’s like having jet lag ALL THE TIME.
I’ve been preaching about the importance of circadian rhythm for years, so it’s no surprise to me that it could increase the risk of heart attacks.
Since you can’t change Daylight Savings Time, this just highlights the importance of focusing on keeping your heart healthy in general. And of course, following your body’s circadian rhythm.
Some of the best ways to do that are to get plenty of morning sunlight in your eyes and to limit blue light at night.
P.S. The two states that have opted out of Daylight Savings Time are Arizona and Hawaii.
