Boost Your Memory WITHOUT Drugs!
It’s on nearly everyone’s mind as they get older: Losing their mind.
From simple slip-ups, to outright dementia, losing your wits is unsettling and downright scary.
And the mainstream won’t help you. They’ll just dole out risky pills that could make your senior moments worse.
But I have a drug-free solution that can boost both your short-term and your long-term memory.
It’s free… easy… and it’s something I like to do myself.
I often talk about the benefits of exercise. The obvious benefits include increasing your strength, balance, flexibility, and heart health.
But did you know it can work wonders for your mind as well?
Studies have shown that your memory gets a boost shortly after a workout.
This is because working out increases the size of the hippocampus, which is the part of the brain associated with learning and memory.
You could say that exercise makes your brain bigger.
But would consistent exercise lead to long-term memory benefits?
To find out, researchers conducted MRI scans both before and after a workout and gave the participants a series of exams to test their memories.
Then, to test the long-term results, the participants completed a 12-week exercise program and were then given the same test.
It turns out that both the single workout and three months of exercise led to improvements in learning and memory function in the hippocampus of the brain.
This means that working out regularly can help you maintain the improved memory that you can experience after a single workout.
This study did not specify what type of exercises the individuals were doing. But I have found that you don’t need to run yourself ragged to get the benefits of moving on a regular basis.
In fact, I think it’s helpful not to think of it as “exercise” at all. One of my favorite ways to get moving every day is simply taking a long walk with my dog.
The important thing is to do what you enjoy. That’s the best way to ensure that you’ll keep doing for the long-haul.
