[Alert] Don’t Fall for THIS Cancer Scam
When your days are numbered, you want every moment to count.
What you DON’T want is to have to deal with side effects from drugs you shouldn’t even be taking to begin with.
But it turns out that dying cancer patients are routinely given long-term, preventive drugs, when they have just weeks left to live.
It’s a scam experienced by thousands.
Fortunately, you don’t have to be the next victim.
Here’s how you can keep you and your loved ones safe.
According to a study published in the journal Cancer, older adults with cancer are routinely prescribed preventive drugs to treat high blood pressure, cholesterol—and even bone health—in the last year of their life.
I would argue against their use for ANYONE, but I draw the line when it comes to terminally ill patients.
I’m not saying that all doctors are intentionally harming their patients, but at some point it’s their responsibility to question what has become the status quo.
I had that epiphany decades ago, and it has transformed how I practice medicine.
But back to the study…
Researchers evaluated the use of preventive drugs in over 150,000 people with advanced cancer in the final year of their life.
They found that the number of drugs increased from about 7 to 10 over the last year of life. And the proportion of people using MORE than 10 drugs skyrocketed from 26 to 52%.
The drugs included antihypertensives, platelet aggregation inhibitors, anticoagulants, statins, and oral antidiabetics.
Remember, the whole “point” behind taking something like a blood pressure lowering drug is to reduce your LONG-TERM risk of a heart attack.
Doctors know these drugs come with risks, but they consider them to be a necessary evil.
Folks, when your days are numbered, there is NO REASON to risk the side effects (not to mention the price tag) of a drug that isn’t ever going to pay off.
A similar study from a few years ago published in the American Journal of Medicine found similar results.
Specifically, their study showed that out of 500,000 terminally ill patients:
- Nearly 50% were given anti-platelet drugs to prevent blood clots
- 41% were taking beta-blockers
- 21% were taking ACE inhibitors
- 17% were taking vasodilators
- 16% were taking cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins.
Newsflash! Your blood pressure and cholesterol are the least of your worries when you’re dealing with an incurable form of cancer.
If someone you love is in this situation, talk to your doctor about which drugs are really necessary… and which ones can be stopped.
