IGNORE This Government Diet Advice!
There are certain things Uncle Sam should stay out of… and giving health advice is up there at the top of the list.
And their bad advice based on either bad science—or science bought and paid for by industries that stand to profit from it—is only getting worse.
Now, a recent study from UNBIASED researchers has VINDICATED a food that the mainstream has DEMONIZED for decades.
You’ve been told it will destroy your heart…
But the latest studies tell a MUCH different story.
You’ve all heard the saying that goes, “If someone told you to jump off a bridge, would you do it?”
The point is that bad advice is bad advice—no matter who’s saying it.
That’s what comes to my mind when I hear people say, “Don’t eat red meat! It’s bad for your heart!”
I’ve ignored that line of advice—and plenty of other doozies—and I’ve always told my patients to ignore it, too.
Now, the largest, most comprehensive study to date shows that red meat isn’t the bad guy everyone has made it out to be.
For this study, 14 researchers from 7 countries conducted three separate reviews to find out the truth about red meat and its impact on heart disease and cancer.
They looked at 61 articles that included 4 million participants to evaluate red meat’s connection to death from any cause.
They reevaluated the handful of studies that specifically linked red meat to cancer and heart disease. They also studied 73 articles that examined the links between red meat and the risk of developing or dying from cancer.
In other words, they evaluated a LOT of data.
And in study after study after study, they found the same recurring theme: If there was a link, it was negligible, and the quality of the evidence was low.
All of it led the researchers to conclude that the evidence is TOO WEAK to tell people not to eat beef or pork.
Predictably, major health organizations like the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society are up in arms—and are doing their best to discredit this damning study.
They’ve attacked the study, called for delayed publication, and even filed a petition against the journal with the Federal Trade Commission.
That’s much ado about a study on RED MEAT!
In reality, these organizations are worried about losing their credibility with the public—especially on the heels of other studies vindicating other foods like salt, fat, and more.
I can’t say I blame them, but they’re starting to look a bit desperate.
I don’t know about you, but I’ll be enjoying a nice juicy steak for dinner tonight. Won’t you join me?
