NEVER Get the Flu! (No Vaccine Necessary)
I’m not a fan of flu shots.
Never have been, never will be.
What that DOESN’T mean is that I think you should be unprotected this flu season.
What it DOES mean is that there are better, safer, and more effective ways to stay healthy.
Today I’m going to tell you about a rather unusual way to reduce your risk of coming down with the flu. It might seem strange, but it’s so effective that it’s estimated to save over a billion dollars in health care costs every year.
Let me say right up front that the flu can pose a serious health risk to seniors—especially seniors that already have a compromised immune system.
Ninety percent of the people who die from the flu every year are seniors.
But flu shots are not the answer.
These shots can make the flu harder to treat in the future. They can cause the virus to spread. They contain harmful ingredients. They increase your risk of major issues like dementia.
And at the end of the day, in many cases they just don’t work.
Thanks for nothing, Big Pharma.
As usual, nature has a better way.
This time, the answer is in probiotics.
Probiotics are best known for encouraging gut health by helping to populate your gut (your microbiome) with good bacteria.
And that’s exactly why they can help prevent the cold and flu.
Up to 80% of your immune system is located in your gut.
Having plenty of good bacteria is the key to a strong immune system. And having a strong immune system is the key to making sure you never get the flu.
It’s pretty simple when you think about it!
In a study of 250 people, a special blend of 5 probiotic strains helped prevent both colds and flu, and to reduce the duration of colds in people who did get sick.
Another study on the same five probiotic strains showed that they led to a 48% decrease in flu episodes, and reduced the number of days with flu symptoms by 55%.
In fact, a recent study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology showed that simply taking probiotics could save $1.4 BILLION a year from reduced healthcare costs and missed work.
That sounds like a lot of reasons to give the bacteria in your gut a boost!
You can take probiotic supplements, or you can eat live bacteria the way our ancestors did for thousands of years… with foods like kimchi, kombucha, pickles, kefir, and sauerkraut.
Next time someone tries to push the flu vaccine on you, keep your sleeves firmly rolled down, and eat some sauerkraut instead.
