SHRINK Your Waistline with THESE 5 Drinks (Yum!)
If you’re reading my articles every day, chances are pretty good that your health is important.
Chances are also good that you’ve learned to ditch the advice of Uncle Sam and most major health organizations.
Their recommendations change with their financial interests.
So today, I want to give you the advice you won’t hear from any mainstream outlets.
It’s about how to drink for better health. You already know that water, coffee, and tea are good for you.
So I’ve skipped those and included five other little-known beverages that deliver BIG benefits for your mind, body, and overall well-being.
They’re pretty tasty, too.
If you’re focused on making good eating choices—and ignoring what you’re drinking—you’re shooting yourself in your foot.
Sugary drinks like soda, juice, energy drinks, and those $10 mocha-frappa-macchiatos will destroy your health faster than a juicy steak and sautéed spinach can repair it.
Drinking plenty of water is a good start.
But if you want something with a little more flavor, here are five drinks that can make your taste buds—and your body—happy.
Beet Juice
Beets are bursting with flavor and nutrients—and their deep red color is a dead giveaway.
Studies have shown that beet juice can enhance your muscles, help you lose weight, and slow the progression of dementia.
It’s also been shown to help manage blood pressure and boost stamina.
Coconut Water
Have you ever had the opportunity to crack open a fresh coconut and drink the refreshing, sweet water directly from the source?
I have, and I can tell you that it’s rejuvenating.
But you don’t have to go to the Caribbean to enjoy this tropical beverage. Coconut water is now available at most major grocery stores.
Coconut water has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and decrease blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
It can also help prevent kidney stones.
You can drink coconut water straight or use it as the liquid base for your smoothies.
Kombucha Tea
I know I said I wasn’t going to mention tea, but kombucha tea is different. It’s a fermented tea made from tea, sugar, yeast, and bacteria.
Kombucha is fantastic for your gut health because it’s a good source of probiotics. It can also help kill harmful bacteria, like the kind that causes infections and yeast.
Cinnamon Milk
Two for the price of one! Cinnamon milk is a delicious treat that gives you the benefit of both the milk AND the cinnamon. Cinnamon is known for boosting metabolism, fighting infections, and repairing tissue damage.
To make cinnamon milk, just heat up your milk, add cinnamon or cinnamon bark to taste, and then add honey or other sweetener.
Red Wine
This one gets a lot of press, but it’s worth mentioning in this list. Red wine is loaded with health-promoting antioxidants that have major benefits, like lowering your risk of heart disease and dementia.
Just make sure you drink it in moderation.
