Miracle Nutrient STOPS Glaucoma Damage (60 Cents a Day)
Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness in worldwide.
It occurs when pressure build up in your eye, which then damages your optic nerve.
Unfortunately, it’s irreversible.
And while drugs can help reduce the pressure in your eye, there’s been nothing that could help protect your delicate retinal cells from further damage.
Until now.
Researchers have just identified a simple, low-cost miracle nutrient that IMPROVES nerve cell function —getting to the root of this devastating eye condition.
Elevated intraocular eye pressure is a risk factor for glaucoma, and the treatments that are available aim to lower that pressure.
But on a deeper level, glaucoma is characterized by the gradual loss of retinal ganglion cells that make up the optic nerve.
And none of the available treatments target the actual damage done to the retina and optic nerve.
Researchers have identified a nutrient that could actually help protect these cells from further damage—while helping the damaged cells work better.
For the study, 57 glaucoma patients received either a placebo, 1.5 grams of vitamin B3 daily, or 3 grams of vitamin B3 daily (in addition to their regular treatment to reduce eye pressure).
At 6 and 12 weeks, they underwent a battery of tests that measured things like visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and blood pressure, as well as tests that determined visual function, such as visual field testing and a test that measures electrical activity in the cells of the retina.
The researchers found that patients taking 3 grams of vitamin B3 daily experienced significant improvements in visual function.
And in some people, vitamin B3 greatly improved the function of nerve cells in the eye.
This is the first study to show that adding vitamin B3 to the standard drug treatment lead to early and significant improvements in glaucoma patients.
The study authors believe that vitamin B3 could help protect cells from damage while also help ones that have already been damaged work better.
Vitamin B3—also known as nicotinamide—is a precursor of NAD+.
Studies show that glaucoma patients are low in NAD+.
It could be that the reason vitamin B3 is so beneficial is because it increases the body’s supply of NAD+… but more research is needed to find out more.
In the meantime, anyone with glaucoma—or at a high risk of glaucoma—should consider supplementing with either nicotinamide, or with NAD+ directly.
You can get a quality nicotinamide supplement from your local natural health store or online at a cost of about 60 cents per day.
