The COVID-19 Breakthrough You NEED to Know About!
The fastest way to find a possible cure for COVID-19 might not be to create one… it could be to identify one that already exists.
Of course, identifying promising treatments… at the best dosage… and possibly in combination with other drugs (also at the best dosage), is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Consider this: Testing just 12 potential drugs at 10 different doses each creates ONE TRILLION possible drug combinations.
That’s a pretty big haystack.
But there’s a new form of artificial intelligence that scientists are utilizing to help identify the perfect compounds for fighting COVID-19.
This program has identified six potential treatments… and two of them happen to be completely natural.
Most artificial intelligence algorithms look BACK at what you’ve trained it in to answer questions. But there’s a new artificial intelligence program called Project Prodigy that looks FORWARD.
This allows researchers to test possible and unanticipated FUTURE scenarios, and could be a game-changer for finding effective treatment options for COVID-19.
This AI program is mapping all known drugs against every mechanism by which SARS-CoV-2 causes complications.
So far, the program has identified SIX potential treatments.
Aprotinin (an antifibrinolytic) and irbesartan (an angiotensin II receptor blocker) could help reduce the effects of the damaging cytokine storm—and the high viral load—associated with COVID-19.
Caplacizumab and ezetimibe/atorvastatin could help treat the blood clotting and inflammation associated with COVID-19.
And two natural compounds were identified as possible treatments for COVID-19: lycopene and vitamin D.
I’m not at all surprised to see vitamin D on this list.
Studies have shown that people with low vitamin D levels are more likely to be admitted to the hospital with COVID-19—and are also more likely to die.
This makes perfect sense, since vitamin D helps your body fight off infections.
Lycopene’s potential benefit was a new one on my radar.
Lycopene is the compound that gives the red color to fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, watermelons, and pink grapefruit.
Your body can utilize it best when it gets it directly from food sources like these.
Now that these scientists have found those key needles in the haystack, it’s time for other researchers to take the baton and carry out further testing on these compounds.
And in the meantime, go outside and eat some watermelon in the sun.
