ERASE Diabetic Nerve Pain with THIS Supplement Combo!
Nerve pain is one of the most common complications of type 2 diabetes.
Diabetic neuropathy in particular eventually affects more than 30 percent of diabetics, afflicting them with symptoms of burning, needles, cold, electric shock, weakness, heat cramps, and more.
It’s devastating and life-altering, and there’s not much that can be done to delay or prevent it.
Fortunately, researchers have identified a powerful formula of 4 key nutrients that can improve diabetic nerve damage symptoms.
A few of the underlying factors involved in diabetic neuropathy include an accumulation of advanced glycation end products, oxidative stress, and lipid disorders—all caused by chronically high blood sugar levels.
Based on these factors, researchers identified four key nutrients that could directly target these underlying factors involved in diabetic nerve damage.
These four nutrients included:
- Superoxide dismutase
- Alpha lipoic acid
- Acetyl L-Carnitine
- Vitamin B12
Previous research had shown that SOD and ALA have antioxidant actions, ALA removes free radicals, and ALC has a neutrophic action. And most diabetics are deficient in B12 (most likely due to taking the drug metformin).
Based on this information, researchers decided to test a special combination of these nutrients to see if it would benefit general diabetic neuropathy.
This double-blind, placebo-controlled trial included 85 type 2 diabetics with generalized neuropathy who had been taking metformin for at least four years. They took either a placebo or a tablet containing these four key nutrients for 12 months.
The researchers measured results using multiple parameters, including the Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument Questionnaire and Examination, Cardiovascular Autonomic Reflex Tests, DPN to assess nerve function, pain questionnaires, and quality of life questionnaires.
In the end, ALL measures of peripheral neuropathy IMPROVED in the group taking the four-nutrient combo—but they actually got WORSE in the placebo group.
In past studies, ALC has also been shown to reduce neuropathic pain and improve pain perception in diabetics. ALA has also been shown to significantly reduce neuropathic symptoms.
I don’t know of a supplement that contains all four nutrients together yet. But if you’re dealing with diabetic neuropathy, it’s worth looking into taking these nutrients individually.
Here were the specific doses for each nutrient in the study:
- 10 mg of SOD
- 570 mg of ALA
- 300 mg ALC
- 250 mcg vitamin B12
