Popular Drink SKYROCKETS Weight and Heart Disease Risk?!
When we’re thirsty, there’s one popular drink most of us reach for.
But the problem is, this well-liked beverage increases liver fat, causes insulin resistance, and can send your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia, and cancer sky high
Not to mention, it’s a disaster for your dental health, and raises your risk of gout.
I hope you’ve already ditched the stuff from your diet.
Because now research shows its effects even extend to your waistline… ……
If you haven’t already ditched soda, you’ll want to dump the rest of it down the drain and never buy another bottle or can.
Why?
Well, one of the main problems with soda is the S word: sugar.
It’s loaded with the stuff.
So, it’s no wonder that drinking sugary drinks cause weight gain and increases your heart disease risk.
But it’s not JUST the sugar that’s the problem.
According to a study published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, sugary drinks lower your body’s appetite-suppressing hormones.
The study included 69 young adults from 18-35. They drank drinks that contained either sucrose or glucose.
(Glucose is naturally found in sweet foods like honey and fruit. Whereas sucrose is a man-made combination of glucose and fructose that comes from sugar cane or sugar beets.)
The researchers took blood samples after the participants consumed the drinks to find out if there was any impact on their hormone levels.
As it turned out, drinking sucrose (the sugar found in sodas)—but NOT glucose—lowered the amount of hormones that suppress hunger.
So not only do these drinks load you up with fattening sugar… they put your body in a constantly hungry state by turning off your “full” switch.
It’s a double whammy.
But don’t use this as a reason to switch to diet soda.
Diet drinks are EVEN WORSE.
They spike your risk of heart disease AND increase your risk of premature death.
And studies show that they actually contribute to weight gain.
There’s nothing “diet” about them.
If you wanted to change just one thing to improve your diet and your health, stop drinking soda.
It’s poison for your body, plain and simple.
P.S. If you’re one of the many of us looking to drop a few pounds, you’ll want to go here and read about how you can lose weight AND boost your heart health.
