Bring Your Arthritis Pain to a HALT
If you have rheumatoid arthritis, you know how much of a pain it is. Literally.
Not only does it cause progressive, debilitating pain in one or more of your joints… it’s difficult to treat.
The joint damage is IRREVERSIBLE… there is NO cure… and most mainstream treatments DON’T WORK.
But that’s all about to change.
Researchers have found a revolutionary new treatment that can SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
Here’s what you need to know.
A few months ago, I told you about a novel new treatment that improved irregular heartbeat – one of the most common heart problems in the world.
It involved stimulation of the vagus nerve, the longest nerve in your body, which stretches from your brain to your colon.
Having weak vagus nerve is linked to over two dozen health problems. And I knew that once researchers were turned on to the benefits of stimulating this powerful nerve, more studies were soon to follow.
Like this latest one, which shows just how effective vagus nerve stimulation is against rheumatoid arthritis.
For this study, researchers planted a vagus nerve stimulator (a neurostimulator called a MicrioRegulator) into 14 people with rheumatoid arthritis.
Some received vagus stimulation once a day, some four times a day, and some served as a control group (no stimulation).
After 12 weeks, the group receiving the once-daily stimulation experienced the most dramatic reduction in their RA symptoms.
They also had a 30% reduction in their cytokine levels, which is a measure of inflammation.
There’s good news and bad news about this study.
The bad news: these vagus nerve stimulators have to be surgically implanted—something I can’t see happening anytime soon. (And I’m saying it SHOULD happen, either.)
But that brings me to the good news…
You don’t have to get sliced open and have a stimulator inserted in your body… because there are plenty of natural, less invasive ways to accomplish the same thing.
These include techniques such as:
- Deep breathing using diaphragmatic breathing, or so-called belly-breathing
- Dipping your face into cold water or taking a cold shower
- Aromatherapy using lavender and bergamot
- Getting more omega 3 fatty acids and zinc by eating more oysters, salmon, and other seafood.
