Can Heart Disease CAUSE Cancer?
When it comes to heart disease, there are certain key factors that increase your risk for it…
Things like age and gender, or having type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.
But if you fall in any of these categories, a recent study found that heart disease isn’t the only thing you have to worry about.
This alarming study showed the connection between heart disease and another major killer.
Researchers looked at data on more than 20,000 people who were part of two major long-term studies (the Framingham Heart Study and the PREVEND study).
They found that the traditional risk factors that increase your risk of heart disease were also associated with an increased risk of cancer.
When they looked at the 10-year atherosclerotic (ASCVD) risk score, each 5 percent increase in the score was associated with a 16 percent increase in the risk of cancer.
In addition, people who were in the highest third of natriuretic peptide levels (an established marker of cardiovascular disease) had a 40 percent greater risk of developing cancer, compared to those in the lowest third.
There’s a clear overlap here.
The same factors that increase your risk of heart disease send your cancer risk SOARING as well.
Fortunately, the flip side seemed to also be true:
Those who followed the American Heart Association’s recommendations to reduce their heart risk — by doing things like managing their blood pressure, reducing blood sugar, eating better, and losing weight — also had a lower risk of developing cancer.
No surprise there.
Your body doesn’t exist in a vacuum, which is exactly why targeted pharmaceutical drugs never work. Everything in your body is interconnected.
The bottom line is the best way to stay healthy and reduce your risk of ALL diseases — not just heart disease and cancer — is to live a healthy lifestyle.
Eat right. Exercise. Spend time in the sun. Avoid toxins, blue light, and electromagnetic fields, and get moving.
You’ll feel better, look better, and live longer.
That’s medicine at its finest.
P.S. Fortunately, there are many natural resources at your disposal to help keep you safe from major diseases like cancer. Click here to read about the “miracle vitamin” that reduces cancer risk 30%.
