“Health Elixir” BURNS MORE Fat!
Dear Reader,
Let’s face it: When you exercise, you want to get results.
You want to boost your aerobic capacity, burn fat, build muscle, lose/maintain weight, and boost your heart health.
Now exercise can do all of that for you… and more.
But if you’re looking to burn more, you’re in luck.
Because if you drink this health elixir 30 minutes before exercising, you’ll get even more bang for your buck.
……
Caffeine has a long list of health benefits, like increasing alertness and boosting cognitive function.
It has even been tied to a longer lifespan.
But did you know that it can help with exercise performance, too?
Studies have shown that caffeine boosts exercise performance by enhancing aerobic power, aerobic endurance, muscle endurance, and strength.
But can it help you burn fat, too?
To find out, researchers conducted a triple-blind, placebo-controlled study with 15 men around 32 years old.
They completed an exercise test four times (twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon), with seven days between each test.
Thirty minutes before each test, they consumed either 3 mg per kilogram of body weight of caffeine (basically the amount in a strong cup of coffee) or a placebo.
Consuming the caffeine led to an increase in MFO (maximal fat oxidation rate) and VO2max (maximal oxygen uptake) during both the morning and afternoon exercise
However, the morning exercise tests showed an even greater increase in MFO and VO2max.
MFO is the process that occurs when you burn fat.
So a higher MFO means your body is burning more fat.
And VO2max is an indicator of your endurance capacity.
There’s a saying that goes: Work smarter, not harder.
Personally, I like to work smart and hard.
Giving your body a natural boost to get the most out of your exercise session is a great way to do both.
This was a small study, so I’d like to see a larger trial confirm these results.
But both coffee and caffeine have enough other health benefits to warrant adding coffee to your day.
And if you can drink it 30 minutes before you exercise, even better.
P.S. Coffee has all kinds of great benefits for your health. Click here and learn how it can SLASH your risk of heart failure.
