SUPERCHARGE Your Brain at Any Age!
I hope you never have to deal with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
But at some point in your life, you’re bound to face brain fog, mental slips, and the general sluggishness that can impact your everyday life.
And like it or not, the older you get, the more likely you are to notice that your brain isn’t as sharp as it used to be…
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Researchers have identified a key nutrient that has been shown to supercharge cognitive performance.
And it works at any age!
Even better?
It’s super easy to get MORE of it.
Need a brain boost? The answer is simple:
Eat more fish.
Fish is loaded with healthy fats called omega-3s that are incredibly important for your health — especially brain health.
As much of 70 percent of your brain is made up of fat, which is necessary for brain function.
Researchers recently looked at the brain effects of two specific omega-3 fatty acids: DHA and EPA.
For their study, 310 health adults from 25 to 49 years old were randomly assigned to one of three groups:
- DHA-rich supplement (900 mg DHA/270 mg EPA/day)
- EPA-rich supplement (360 mg DHA/900 mg EPA/day)
- Placebo
They underwent a series of memory tests at the start and after 26 weeks, and here’s what the results showed:
- The EPA group performed the best on global accuracy
- The DHA group saw statistically significant improvements in reaction time.
This makes sense, since omega-3s are so important for learning and memory.
I also want to point out that this test was done on healthy, middle-aged adults — people who already had decent brain function.
To see an improvement in a group like this shows just how effective these healthy fats are!
The best part is that it’s easy to get plenty of omega-3s from food. Salmon and chia seeds are at top of the list, at 4,123 mg and 5,060 mg per serving, respectively.
But sardines, walnuts, mackerel, and flax seeds are great sources, too.
The bottom line is that your brain needs fat — healthy fat — to function, and it doesn’t get much better than omega-3s.
