[WARNING] DANGEROUS Treatment for Prostate Cancer
I hate to think of how many men have had their lives turned upside down because of a surgery they didn’t need.
I’m talking about surgery to remove prostate cancer.
The surgery is known to cause life-changing side effects like incontinence and impotence.
After all, if wearing a diaper isn’t enough to kill your sex life, erectile dysfunction will be the nail in the coffin.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
The majority of men with prostate cancer don’t have to choose between life and quality of life.
A recent large study has proven the best course for action for many men with prostate cancer.
(Hint: It’s NOT surgery!)
When you hear the word cancer, it’s natural to want it removed from your body ASAP.
But that’s not always the best course of action — especially when it comes to prostate cancer.
You see, many men can live long, healthy lives with prostate cancer — and ultimately die of something completely unrelated.
So, when it comes to a risky surgery that can ruin your quality of life, the risks are often NOT worth the benefit.
New research adds weight to this argument.
Researchers looked at long-term data from 1998 onward on 23,000 men who decided to follow “active surveillance.”
They found that men over 60 years old with non-aggressive prostate cancer tended to live at least 10 additional years with NO active TREATMENT.
And at they point, the were STILL unlikely to die from the disease.
AND, they had a better sex life.
This is a big deal, since up to 90 percent of men who opt for a treatment like surgery or radiotherapy for prostate cancer report having issues with erections.
Men who do nothing have the same survival rates over a five-year period. The difference is that they’re much more likely to still be able to have sex.
I only advocate active surveillance when the cancer is not aggressive.
To determine whether your cancer is aggressive or not, talk to your doctor about getting a 4Kscore Test.
It’s likely not covered by insurance, but the out-of-pocket cost is nothing compared to what getting an unnecessary surgery could cost your quality of life.
