POWERFUL Supplement Lowers Risk of Cardiac Death
Find out how much to take
Yesterday I told you about a bad habit that can send your risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes soaring.
Today, I want to do the opposite:
Share with you one of the BEST things you can do to protect your heart.
Not only can it keep your ticker in tip-top shape… it can significantly lower your risk of dying from a cardiovascular event.
Ready for it?
Boost your levels of omega-3 fatty acids.
Studies have poured in over the years showing that omega-3s have benefits ranging from lowering triglyceride levels to boosting brain function to improving your mood.
But not all studies have shown major benefits. These likely didn’t use high enough doses to make a difference.
But studies like this recent one, published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, help clarify the best dosage to use for the best results.
This meta-analysis reviewed 19 studies that analyzed the connection between omega-3 supplementation and cardiovascular outcomes, and it included nearly 100,000 people.
That’s a lot of data to draw from.
What it revealed is that taking two one-gram capsules of omega-3 supplements per day was associated with a significantly lower risk of dying from a cardiovascular event (think heart attack and stroke).
Boosting your body’s levels of omega-3s is clearly beneficial.
And omega-3 supplements represent one way to do that. Having said that, I always try to get my omega-3s from food sources like salmon and sardines.
When it comes to getting adequate nutrients, whole food is always king.
But if it’s not fish you crave, you can add in a supplement instead.
