Golden Oil Linked to LONGER, Healthier Life
Living longer is about more than adding years to your life.
It’s about living healthy and disease-free no matter your chronological age.
Who wants to live to 90 if their memory has failed them, or to 100 if they’re strapped to an oxygen tank, and every breath is a struggle?
No, for me, living longer is about living a healthy, vibrant life for as long as possible.
If you share my viewpoint, you’ll want to make sure you’re getting plenty of this golden oil in your diet.
The fact that olive oil is good for you isn’t breaking news.
Nor is the fact that it could contribute to a longer life.
After all, this golden oil has consistently been identified as one of the common denominators in the groups of people with the longest lifespans.
But a recent study found that in addition to helping you live longer, olive oil helps you live healthier, too.
For this study, researchers looked at data from more than 90,000 people who were part of the famous Nurses’ Health Study and the Professionals Follow-up Study.
As part of this study, researchers tracked aspects of the volunteer’s dietary intake for nearly three decades.
They found that the people who consumed just ½ tablespoon of olive oil per day had:
- 19 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease
- 17 percent lower risk of dying from cancer
- 29 percent lower risk of dying from a neurodegenerative disease
- 18 percent lower risk of dying from lung disease
Let me be clear: I don’t consider olive oil to be the fountain of youth.
It’s likely that the people who ate the most olive oil ALSO had a healthier overall diet and lifestyle.
But there’s no doubt that olive oil—which is rich in health-promoting polyphenols—plays an important part in a long, healthy life.
Getting half a tablespoon per day is easy to do.
Add a dash of oil and vinegar to a salad. Or drizzle it on top of a caprese salad with tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella.
I love how what’s the most nutritious is also what’s the most delicious.
P.S. The olive oil benefits don’t end with longevity. Compounds in this delicious golden oil can also help tame unruly blood sugar. You’ll find the complete story here.
