The One “Diet” Food You Should NEVER Eat
For decades, artificial sweeteners seemed like a miracle food. They’re 100 times sweeter than sugar, yet they have zero calories.
It seems like a win-win.
But when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
So if you’re one of the millions stocking up on “diet”-this and “sugar-free”-that, in an effort to watch your waistline and your health…
I have bad news for you.
Artificial sweeteners not only could be sabotaging your best diet efforts, but they could also be sending your risk of THIS devastating disease skyrocketing.
Artificial sweeteners are a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They promise all the sweetness of sugar with none of the calories and weight gain that goes along with it.
Seems pretty innocent, right?
Yet studies show they promote weight gain and increase the risk of cancer.
And now they’ve been tied to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, to boot.
In a recent study, researchers found that people who ate sugar substitutes had “distinct changes in the composition and function of gut microbiomes and the molecules they secrete into peripheral blood.”
Saccharin and sucrose, in particular, significantly impacted glucose tolerance in adults.
The changes in the volunteer’s microbiomes were closely connected to the alterations in their glycemic responses. In other words, the sweeteners made changes to their gut bug balance that affected their blood sugar levels.
It isn’t the first time we’ve seen it either. Earlier studies in mice produced similar results.
Previous research has also shown that artificial sweeteners harm metabolism and appetite control.
Look, if you want a healthy alternative to sugar, this isn’t it. If you’re searching for a way to slim down your waistline, keep searching. And if you’re looking for “guilt-free,” skip these chemical concoctions.
Unfortunately, even when you try to rid your diet of them, you could still be loading up on artificial sweeteners without even realizing it. Whether it’s aspartame, saccharin, or sucralose, these chemical sugar substitutes are hiding in sodas, gum, baked goods, ice cream, candy – you name it.
Any time you see words like “diet,” “no sugar added,” “low calorie,” and “sugar-free,” it’s a dead giveaway that the product has artificial sweeteners. If you spot any of those terms, STAY AWAY.
If you have a sweet tooth, feed it with NATURAL sugars instead – like the kind found in fruit and honey.
P.S. Food ingredients created in a lab are always bad news. But one of the most popular artificial sweeteners on the market was recently linked to an increased risk of cancer too. Click here for all the ugly details.
