Beat the Winter Blues NATURALLY
It’s been called “the most wonderful time of the year.”
But if you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, it’s anything but.
Seasonal affective disorder—appropriately abbreviated SAD—is a type of depression that shows up during the long winter months, when days are shorter and darker.
This seasonal form of depression can sap your energy, cause moodiness, and dramatically impact your quality of life.
If you’re struggling with SAD—or any kind of depression—I want to tell you about a little-known compound that could drive away your blues even when other options fail.
Research has repeatedly shown that most common antidepressants aren’t very effective.
For example, by some estimates, almost a quarter of people taking the popular antidepressant Cymbalta fail to respond to treatment.
Not a great track record.
There’s a desperate need for a better option—and SAMe could be just the thing we’ve been looking for.
S-adenosyl-L-methionine (or SAMe for short) is a natural chemical that’s involved in more than 200 chemical reactions in your body.
In particular, it helps produce neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. Deficiencies in these chemicals can play a role in depression.
The results from clinical studies have been impressive, to say the least.
Numerous clinical trials have shown that a daily dose of SAMe can rapidly improve depression symptoms with little to no side effects.
In one study, taking SAMe with antidepressant medication was MORE effective than the medication alone at treating depression symptoms.
In another study of people who were resistant to antidepressant drugs, 50 percent responded to treatment with SAMe, and 43 percent experienced complete remission!
SAMe is also effective when taken along with antidepressants. When taken with SSRIs, for example, patients who had previously been resistant had a 105-percent higher response rate and a 120-percent higher remission rate than those on placebo.
The evidence for SAMe’s impact is so strong that it’s sold as a prescription drug in some countries. But, in the USA, it’s “merely” a supplement.
And that’s actually GREAT news. Because you can get this highly effective treatment at a great price… and just in time for SAD season.
P.S. Treating depression is just the beginning of SAMe’s health benefits. It’s also been shown in clinical trials to help beat osteoarthritis pain by regrowing cartilage around the knee. Stay tuned for my December newsletter for more information about SAMe and other ways to tackle stubborn OA pain. (CLICK HERE, for details)
