Daytime Trick Helps You Sleep Like a Baby
If you don’t have trouble falling asleep at night, and you sleep soundly until you wake, feeling fully rested in the morning… then you can thank your lucky stars.
But you’re probably still reading because up to 75 percent of older adults have poor sleep quality.
The mainstream’s answer is to pop a pill, whether it’s a sleep drug or a melatonin supplement. But I tell my patients to steer clear of BOTH.
My solution will have you sleeping like a baby without spending a dime.
Sleeping pills never work in the long run because they don’t fix your body’s underlying problem.
More often than not, a disrupted circadian rhythm is at the root of your sleep woes.
This “internal clock” follows the rhythm of the sun in a 24-hour cycle. The influence of this rhythm causes you to be awake during daylight hours and asleep when it’s dark.
Well, at least it’s supposed to.
But too much of the wrong kind of input at the wrong time—like blue light at night, staying inside all day long, or working the night shift—can cause your circadian rhythm to go haywire.
The fastest and easiest way to reset it so you can sleep at NIGHT is to soak up the sun during the DAY.
Most insomnia solutions focus on what you can do at night to help you sleep. They include limiting exposure to blue light, sleeping in a cool, dark room, and going to bed at a regular time.
All of those things WILL help. So go right ahead and do them.
But they WON’T solve the problem alone. For that, you must ALSO get enough sunlight exposure during the day.
You see, stepping outside first thing in the morning is the best way to rev up your body’s melatonin production.
Melatonin is the hormone you need to help you fall asleep and stay asleep at night.
Sunlight also helps your body produce serotonin, a hormone that’s converted into melatonin when it’s dark.
You must change what you’re doing during the DAY to have enough of these sleep-enhancing hormones around when you need them at night.
P.S. Sunshine isn’t just necessary for good quality sleep at night. There are bunches of other reasons to make sure you get a good dose of natural sunlight daily. CLICK HERE for six of our closest star’s top six health benefits.
