Exposed! Common “Health” Drink UPS Stroke Risk
The mainstream has done it time and again…
They pass off a deadly food or drink as “healthy”.
It happened with margarine… and low-fat dairy… and even carb-filled cereals.
Now, it’s happening again.
Because research shows that a certain “health” drink can dramatically increase your risk of having a stroke.
And it could be in your fridge right now.
It’s no big secret that soda is bad for you.
People drink this sugar-laden crap by the gallon, and it’s a major contributor to the obesity, diabetes, and heart disease epidemics rampant in our society.
But in looking for an alternative to soda, people are turning to something even worse… DIET SODA!
Newsflash! You’re just trading one poison for another: sugar for aspartame.
And now diet soda drinkers are paying the price.
A recent study by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association has found that drinking two or more diet sodas per day dramatically increases the risk of having a clot-based stroke, heart attack, and early death.
Compared to women who rarely consumed these drinks, those who had more than two 12-ounce diet drinks per day were…
- 31% more likely to have a clot-based stroke
- 29% more likely to have heart disease
- And 16% more likely to die from any cause.
And when the researchers specifically looked at women who had NO history of heart disease, the risks were even greater.
Specifically, these women were TWICE as likely to have a clot-based stroke.
But the women who had the greatest risk were African-Americans with no history of heart disease. They were FOUR times as likely to have a stroke!
This study specifically evaluated women over 50, but the type of vascular damage that leads to these cardiovascular events doesn’t discriminate by gender.
So men, this is for you, too.
This is the latest in a line of studies linking diet drinks to an increased risk of stroke, dementia, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
And to think, diet soda is marketed as a healthier option to regular soda. But why compare them at all? They should both be thrown in the garbage!
Instead, reach for water, green tea, or coffee. Not only do they taste delicious, but they can also prevent disease and help you live longer, too.
Now that’s something worth drinking to.
