Extend Your Life in Just 10 Minutes a Day? (SHOCKING)
There’s one thing most of us have in common:
We all want to live long, healthy lives.
And while we can take all kinds of supplements and try and eat a healthy diet…
There’s an easy way to help you live longer.
And it only takes ten minutes a day.
You know by now that exercise is good for you.
But you don’t have to work up a sweat in the gym to reap its benefits.
In fact, it’s surprising how LITTLE amount of movement it takes to lower your risk of health problems — and ultimately to help you live longer.
When it comes to good habits that can boost your heart health and help you live longer, it doesn’t get much easier than this:
Take a walk!
And believe it or not, as little as 10 minutes a day is all it takes to make a BIG impact on your health.
Take a look:
For this study, researchers tracked over 16,000 women averaging 72-years-old who were part of the Women’s Health Study.
They wore a step counter for four to seven days, and the researchers measured the impact of two different types of walking:
- Continuous walking of 10 minutes or longer
- Short spurts of walking, such as doing housework, walking to the car, or climbing stairs.
You might be surprised by the results.
They found that people who took more steps in short bursts lived longer regardless of how many steps they took in continuous bursts.
In people who took more than 2,000 steps per day of uninterrupted walking, there was a 32 percent decrease in death during the follow-up period.
And each additional 1,000 steps per day was associated with a 28 percent decrease in death, compared to those who didn’t walk at all.
This confirms previous studies showing that women who took at least 4,500 steps per day had a significantly lower risk of death compared to inactive women.
I understand that no everyone has the ability—or desire—to do intense workouts.
But studies like these show that you don’t have to.
In fact, while walking 10 minutes or longer was associated with a longer life, even that isn’t necessary!
Staying active in your daily life—parking farther away at the grocery store, walking to get the mail, cleaning the house, doing some yardwork—is enough to reduce your risk of dying early.
So, get off the couch and start moving.
Every little bit counts.
