Overweight? You MUST Read This!
Everyone knows that carrying around extra weight isn’t good for you.
But that still hasn’t put a dent in the alarming number of people who are overweight or obese (650 million to be exact).
For years, the primary concerns associated with all that extra weight were either developing heart disease or type 2 diabetes.
But more recent research has added another major risk factor to the list…
And this one could be the worst of them all.
Recent studies have shown that obesity is responsible for 40% of all cancers.
Now that we’re aware of the connection, more in-depth research is being done to look more closely at the timing and duration of obesity and cancer risk.
In a recent study, researchers looked at data from 220,000 people that included information on height, weight, and age, and then compared the information to data from national cancer registries.
What they found is that the sooner you gain the extra weight, the higher your chances of developing cancer.
They found that if individuals were overweight or obese before they turned 40, their risk of numerous types of cancer was dramatically increased:
- 70% higher risk of endometrial cancer
- 58% higher risk of male renal-cell cancer
- 29% higher risk of colon cancer
- 15% higher risk of obesity-related cancers like breast, gallbladder, stomach, liver, pancreas, kidney, ovaries, uterus, colon, and rectum.
They followed the people for about 18 years. But the people who were obese from the get-go (BMI of 30 or higher) had the highest risk of developing obesity-related cancer.
For these particular individuals, the men had a 64% increased risk, while the women had a 48% increased risk.
No matter how you break down the numbers, the result is the same: Being overweight or obese isn’t just bad for you… it will ultimately be the death of you.
Fortunately, there’s a simple way to drop the weight.
All you have to do is eat all of your meals in an 8 to 12-hour window. Start with a 12-hour timeframe, like 8 AM to 8 PM and then scale it down from there.
Many of my patients have seen good weight loss results using this EASY method.

Most heart health advice is too general to be beneficial. You know the kind… Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and fish; don’t eat fried or sugar-sweetened foods. It’s a good start, but it’s far more helpful to know specifics. And thanks to modern research, we know certain key foods can help protect your heart in...
If you have rheumatoid arthritis, you know how much of a pain it is. Literally. Not only does it cause progressive, debilitating pain in one or more of your joints… it’s difficult to treat. You probably know by now that vitamin C is a powerhouse for your immune system. It helps protect your body from infection and even shortens wound healing time. When it comes to optimal health, I like to blend the conventional with the unconventional. Key lifestyle factors that “everyone knows” are good for your heart include things like: eating a healthy diet, getting consistent movement, minimizing stress, and getting a good night’s sleep. I do these things on a regular basis, and I encourage...
Migraine pain can be a difficult nut to crack. For some, a migraine can come on for seemingly no reason. Worse yet, it can leave you in the dark, lying in misery for days on end. See, the problem with migraines is that they can be caused by anything from hormonal changes to weather changes...
Some past research has indicated that being physically active can help cancel out the negative effects of being overweight on heart health. But… is that true? Well, a new study put that idea to the test. And you’ll be surprised by what it found. I have some unfortunate news. Frankly, the idea that exercising can...
Some diseases don’t discriminate. That’s not the case with COVID-19. Certain people are much more likely to become infected with COVID-19—and are also much more likely to die. For example, there is a higher mortality rate in people over 80 years old, people with cardiovascular disease, and in African Americans. But type 2 diabetics are...
Sometimes being healthy is about what you DO… like exercising, managing stress, and eating more of certain types of foods. But being healthy is also about what you DON’T do. Like not smoking, not drinking too much, and not being around toxic cancer-causing chemicals. Today, I’m going to tell you about something you’ll want to...
If you have arthritis in your hands, you know how difficult it can make daily life.
